‘Indoor Hurling & Camogie’ Heat 4: Omagh
Attention turned once again to Omagh’s superb Station Centre for Heat 4 and the final instalment of our thrilling 2020 ‘Indoor Hurling & Camogie’ competition. Four school teams competed in the Hurling section and four teams participated in the Camogie.
The camogie entrants were pretty closely matched. St. Mary’s P.S. Killyclogher and St. Catherine’s P.S. Strabane played some cracking camogie but, unluckily for them, St. Colmcille’s P.S. Carrickmore and Gaelscoil Uí Dhochartaigh, Strabane, played that little bit better and both duly qualified for the Tyrone Indoor Camogie County Final 2020.
The Hurling competition was also played on a round-robin basis with the teams from Gaelscoil Uí Dhochartaigh, Srath Bán; St. Catherine’s P.S. Strabane; St. Mary’s P.S. Killyclogher and St. Colmcille’s P.S. Carrickmore all playing each other – giving them three games apiece. The standard of play, just like the camogie, was superb. After tallying-up the points we had our finalists. Great credit to Killyclogher and the Gaelscoil for battling so heroically but, on this occasion, it was the lads from Carrickmore and Strabane who progress to the Tyrone Indoor Hurling County Final 2020.
A huge word of thanks the Station Centre staff who had everything prepared for us as usual. Thanks, also, to Ethan McNally & Damhlaic Rush for officiating so expertly, and Mickey Quinn for coordinating events on the day.
We wish all qualifiers the very best of luck for the Co. finals.
Ádh mór oraibh!
