Indoor Hurling & Camogie: Loughview & Clonoe Heats 3 & 4

20th Jan 2017

ALLIANZ CUMANN na mBUNSCOL

 Indoor Hurling & Camogie’ Heat 3 & 4

Attention switched to Dungannon’s Loughview Centre and Clonoe Community Centre for heats 3 and 4, respectively, for the final two instalments of our 2017 ‘Indoor Hurling & Camogie’ competition.

It was a case of double celebrations in Loughview for two local schools, when St. Patrick’s P.S. Roan, Eglish and St. Patrick’s P.S. Donaghmore remarkably achieved dual qualification for the Tyrone Co. Finals. This is a particularly strong achievement for newly-appointed Roan Principal, Master Stephen Mone. He looks well-set to follow his predecessor, Seamus McCreesh, with success on the sporting front. Equally joyous will be Donaghmore’s Tyrone duo, Camogie All-Star Julie Lagan and Football All-Star Master Peter Harte. Another county final awaits…

Clonoe Hall also witnessed some tremendous tussles. Múinteoir Paraic Martin from Gaelscoil Uí Néill, Cluain Eo, was a very proud teacher as his young charges played superbly to seal county final places in both Hurling and Camogie. Maith sibh go léir! They will be joined by another talented camogie outfit from St. Brigid’s P.S. Brocagh, and by a skilful St. John’s P.S. Kingsisland. These latter two schools are coached by Masters Paul McKernan and Philip O’ Neill – two top GAA personalities.

Our Tyrone Hurling Final will be on Thursday 26 January in Omagh’s Station Centre. Qualifying teams are:

Altamuskin; Ballygawley; Carrickmore; Gaelscoil Uí Dhochartaigh; Eglish; Donaghmore; Clonoe Gaelscoil and Kingsisland.

Meanwhile, 6 schools will contest the Camogie Co. Final on the following day. They are:

Recarson P.S; Carrickmore; Eglish; Donaghmore; Clonoe Gaelscoil and Brocagh.

Ádh mór oraibh!
