On Friday 3rd May, five schools took part in their Allianz Cumann na mBunscol heats hosted in Fintona to find the winners of Section A. THe schools taking part were;
- St Lawrence’s P.S. Fintona
- St Colmcille’s P.S. Carrickmore
- St Dympna’s P.S. Dromore
- St Conor’s P.S. Omagh
- Holy Family P.S. Omagh
All the schools played their part in making the day and providing a very entertaining tournament.
The group stages were very exciting with all of the teams putting in a great effort. Every team got a chance to play each other once and that meant plenty of great football was on show throughout. In the end, it was Fintona and Carrickmore who progressed through to the final. In a very competitive game St Lawrences battled it out with St Colmcille’s Carrickmore in a game that was full of great passages of play with some brilliant finishing from a few very sharp forwards on both teams. At the final whistle it was the Carrickmore boys who came out on top as winners of the day.
We would like to thank all of the schools and the teachers involved for their hard work throughout the year in prompting all out national games, and we wish Carrickmore the best of luck in the Tyrone Finals Day.
