The first year of the Art McRory & Damian Cahalane Cup competitions will definitely be one to remember for the children who took part from all the local schools in the Dungannon area. The children from St. Patrick's PS, Edendork, Blessed Patrick O'Loughran Castlecaufield, Laghey PS, Clinty Clay, The Sacred Heart Rock PS, Holy Trinity Cookstown, Derrylatinee PS & Gaelscoil Aodha Rua provided a brilliant day of competitve skillfull football which was played in the very best of sporting spirit.
The Damian Cahalane Shield was presented to Clinty Clay PS after a narrow defeat of the cailini from Gaelscoil Aodha Rua. The Art McRory Shield was presented to St. Patrick's PS after they overcame Gaelscoil Aodha Rua in the boys shield final. Commiserations to the great children of Gaelscoil Aodha Rua who performed brilliantly to make the finals.
The Cup competitions were equally as competitive with both games serving up classics. The girls from St. Patrick's eventually fought off the challenge of Holy Trinity PS Cookstown. Congratulations to both teams on a great final.
The boys Cup competition was equally as tight with Castlecaufield overcoming a very spirited Laghy team who deserve much credit for their brave display.
Family members of the two great Dungannon men Art McRory and Damian Cahalane were on hand to present the shields and cups to the winning teams.
