Well done to St Colmcille's Carrickmore (hurling) and Gaelscoil Eoghain (camogie) who represented the county at today's Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Indoor Camogie & Hurling Ulster Finals in the Meadowbank Area, Magherafelt.
It was a day to remember for the Carmen boys who have been crowned Ulster champions!! The boys topped their group beating champions from Down, Cavan and Armagh before defeating the Donegal champions convincingly in the semi-finals.
The final was an epic battle against the Derry champions with the Carrickmore boys going one step further than last year and taking home the cup by the narrowest of margins.
The Gaelscoil Eoghain girls were drawn in a very difficult group. They started fantastically beating the Fermanagh champions before losing to a last-second score from the Armagh champions. In their final game, they lost out narrowly to the eventual finalists from Derry in a great game which could have gone either way. A fantastic performance from a group of girls who made history for their school this year by winning the county title!
Well done and congratulations to both schools who represented our county brilliantly throughout the day!
